#SmartCities: What makes a city ‘smart’ and how do we design and build one that works for everyone?

1. SMART SPEAKERS
Our speakers are smart city experts, from areas including infrastructure, software, hardware, design and academia. This should make for some very interesting discussions. We will also have TechIreland's snapshot of the South East with insights, facts and figures.

2. SMART BEER
Yep, that's right, well, smart as in free. Enjoy a complimentary drink or two and a few nibbles kindly provided by our fantastic sponsors. No cover charge, no fees, just good company.

3. SMART JOBS
Some of the attendees have employment opportunities available right here in Kilkenny. In fact, some attendees have already found employment from the previous Tech Thursday events. We will announce some available Kilkenny employment opportunities in design and tech on the night.

4. SMART KILKENNY
Smart Cities are created by smart people. Introduce yourself and network with other like-minded people in Kilkenny. We have local, national and international speakers all available to impart advice and knowledge before during, and after the event.

5. SMART DESIGN
As always there will be a strong design focus, with Kilkenny being the birthplace of Irish design in business. The second panel talk will discuss the role of design in a city, hosted by Kim Mackenzie-Doyle, president of the Irish Designers Institute.
